Styling and New Engine Equals Sales and Profits. Travelers through Michigan in
1934 could almost hear the sigh of relief coming from Fords Dearborn offices.
After 3 years of losing money and the #1 sales position to Chevrolet, Ford was
able to both make a profit and regain the #1 sales position in 1934. With a new
version of the V-8 engine, increasing horsepower to 85, new Stromberg
carburetors and A.C. air cleaners, and new sporty styling including body colored
fenders, Ford once again had the look and feel of a winner.
