1922 Ford Fire Chief
Runabout
Prices Down, Production Up
In 1922, the Ford Motor Company continued to pass on the money saved by their
increasingly efficient production line to their customers. The TT chassis (Ford
didn’t build trucks yet, just chassis) had its price reduced $100 to $445 and
production was at a record high. No wonder fire departments, still converting in
many areas from horse-drawn wagons, made Ford the #1 choice for smaller
vehicles. This 1922 Fire Chief Runabout features a hand-cranked siren and
covered hose bed.
