Edgar Roberts, lived in Biddeford
LAKE PARK, Ga - Edgar Allen "Bob" Roberts, 85, of Lake Park and previously of Biddeford, Maine, died Sunday of South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born May 20, 1910, in Saco, Maine, a son of Robert and Ruby Townsend Roberts, and graduated from Biddeford High School.
Mr Roberts was employed by the Saco-Lowell Shops in Biddeford. He played bass fiddle in area dance bands.
He had lived in Biddeford, Cairo, Ga., and moved to the Lowndes County area 39 years ago.
He retired from Metal Products of ITT.
Mr Roberts was a member of Lake Park Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir, the Odd Fellows Club, and the National Radio Institute.
His wife, Martha Irene Roberts died March 29.
Survivors include a daughter, Pearl Nathalia Huff of Standish, Maine, three sons, Edgar A., N. Frederick, and William B., all of Biddeford, a stepson, Jack T. O'Neal of Locust Grove, a brother, Henry L. of Readfield, Maine, a sister, Marion Gerry of Gorham, Maine, 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews.
