E. Stanley Roberts, mechanic, bus driver
SACO - E. Stanley Roberts, 69, of 22 Glenwood Ave., died Tuesday at Maine Medical Center, Portland.
He was born in Biddeford on Dec 3, 1924, a son of Robert L. and Ruby Townsend Roberts, and attended Biddeford High School.
Mr Roberts was an Army Air Force veteran.
For 33 years, he was employed as a mechanic and driver for the Biddeford and Saco bus lines. He also worked as a custodian at Fairfield School for several years retiring in 1989.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors includes his wife, Theresa Martin Roberts of Saco, two sons, Arthur of Rangeley and Sumner of Portland, four daughters, Mrs Roger (Priscilla) Charette of Saco, Mrs Gerald (Linda) Balentine of York, Mrs Raynald (Nancy) Hallczuk of Arundel and Mrs Daniel (Elaine) Maher of Levant, two brothers, Edgar of Lake Park, Ga., and Henry of Readfield, and a sister, Mrs Perl (Marion) Gerry of Gorham, and nieces and nephews.

Mr and Mrs Ernest Roberts celebrates 40th anniversary
SACO - A surprise anniversary party was held for Mr and Mrs Ernest Roberts of Saco at the Harbor Road home in York on Saturday, April 23, in observance of the couple's 40th wedding anniversary.
The party was given by Mr and Mrs Roberts children.
Attending were grandchildren, relatives and friends.
A money tree and numerous other gifts were presented to the honored couple.
