Jeanne D'Arc Richard, 80
BIDDEFORD - Jeanne D'Arc Richard, 80, of West Street died June 9, 2001, at her home after a brief illness.
She was born here, a daughter of Adelard and Laura Brunelle Gobeil, and attended St. Andre School. As a young woman she worked for Bates Manufacturing Co.
She was a communicant of St. Andre Church and a former member of the Fremont Club, the Daughters of Isabella and the Good Sam Club.
Her hobbies included traveling, knitting, bowling, ceramics, and flower gardening and arranging.
Her first husband, Rene Turgeon, died in 1951. In 1954 she married Gerard Richard at St. Andre Church.
A granddaughter, June Sirois, died previously. Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Gerard Richard of Biddeford; three daughters, Reinette Sirois of Tampa, Fla., Carol Lapointe of Durham and Linda Reeves of North Thetford, Vt.; two sons, Marcel Richard of Topsham and Robert Richard of Hamberg, N.Y.; two sisters, Anna Neault of Biddeford and Irene Dudevoir of Old Orchard Beach; four brothers, George, Alfred, Arthur and Henri Gobeil, all of Biddeford; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hope Memorial Chapel. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Andre Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
