Alice G. Bedard, 88
WEST NEWFIELD - Alice G. Bedard, 88, of Bond Spring Road and formerly of Middle Street in Saco and Marion Avenue in Biddeford, died Jan. 14,2001, at Goodall Hospital in Sanford.
She was born in Biddeford, a daughter of Adelard and Laura Brunelle Gobeil, and attended Biddeford schools.
On Sept. 7, 1931, she married Edmond Bedard at St. Andre's Church in Biddeford.
Mrs. Bedard worked at West Point Pepperell mill, retiring in 1968.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, the Non Laic Christ Institute, St. Paul's Retreat House, the Third Order of St. Francis and the Cursillo Movement.
Her husband died in 1967. Two daughters also predeceased her, Aline Bedard in 1995 and Lorraine Labbe in 1998.
Surviving are a son, Adrien Bedard of West Newfield; four daughters, Mrs. Claude (Lucille) Michaud, Mrs. George (Claire) Metayer and Mrs. Paul (Lucienne) Sirois, all of Biddeford, and Mrs. Kenneth (Rita) White of Saco; three sisters, Anna Neault and Jeanne Richard, both of Biddeford, and Irene Dudevoir of Old Orchard Beach; four brothers, George, Alfred, Arthur and Henri Gobeil, all of Biddeford; 24 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Saco. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Biddeford.

CELEBRATING their 25th wedding anniversary at a family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Labbe, 20 Ray street, recently were Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Bedard, 80 Middle street, Saco. The Bedard's were married at St. Andre church Rev. Arthur M. Deary. Attending the gathering were Mr. and Mrs. Adrien Bedard, Claude Michaud, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Labbe the Misses Claire, Rita, Lucienne and Aline Bedard, Claudette Michaud, Maurice and Michel Bedard, Renald and Robert Michaud. Previous to the dinner an open house was held at the Bedard's residence with friends and relatives attending. Mr. and Mrs. Bedard have been employed by Pepperell Manufacturing company for 30 years.
